Meet Mrs. Zardoust

Dear Parents and Students,

My name is Carolyn Zardoust and I’m a student teacher at Athens State University. I’m married and I have four children ranging in ages from 17 to 9 years old. Before going to school to be an elementary school teacher I home schooled them for four years. It was a spark under my seat that never went out, and I loved it just as much as the children did. I just started my second rotation at Harvest Elementary School. Since the beginning of school I have been working with the 1st grade and now I am with Mrs. Vandiver and her class. I will be working with them and teaching at least part of the day until Thanksgiving break. There is such a tremendous difference between 1st graders and 4th graders, but they all have one thing in common: They get so excited when they are eager to learn something. My favorite aspect of teaching is that moment when the “light” gets clicked on and a student goes “I know this!”, because suddenly they understand that new concept after wanting to for so long.
If you have any questions or wish to contact me, my email is czardous@my.athens.edu and I am open to any concerns you may have. If there is anything I can do to assist your child in better understanding the subject matter, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Blessings,

Carolyn Zardoust

Jacques Reeves

Yesterday we had our AR kickoff in the gym. We had the pleasure of being entertained by the author Jacques Reeves. She is an amazing story teller, and kept everyone in the gym on their toes. She also is married to Robert Reeves from News Channel 19. It was a pleasure getting to listen to her and meet her. Mrs. Reeves is very knowledgable and I know that we all look forward to listening to her again. Here are some pictures of her telling her story to the students and a picture of her by herself.

Calen was voted our first MVP of this year. Being our MVP means that you get to decorate the inside of your locker, star on our classroom blog, and be inducted into our classroom Hall of Fame.
There were a total of 14 All-Stars for the first week of school. That means 14 people in our class did not pull a single card all week. We are off to an awesome start! I hope that this upcoming week we can have more!
In addition to having 1 MVP and 14 All-Stars we had 3 people win our ticket drawing this week. They were Jeff, Lance and Kayla. These individuals received a Homework pass and a pencil.
Way to go Calen! Keep up the good work T.E.A.M!

1st Day!

Today was the first day of school. It went well! I really enjoyed getting to know all of my students. I did learn all of their names, and a few things about each one of them. I can tell that it is going to be a great year after today. I look forward to tomorrow. Friday I am hoping that our class has voted on our first MVP and they get to go hot on the press. We will have to wait and make sure we get all the consent forms back first :) Thanks for a great day boys and girls! Talk to you and see you tomorrow!
